Hey readers,
Picture this: Your day is finally winding down and with it coming to a close you decided to jump in the shower to enjoy a nice, hot, relaxing time by yourself. You begin by rinsing your hair first with water and as you are soaking your hair you open your eyes to the ceiling and…see a spider in the corner. And it’s on the move, big time. It is a daddy long legger – just so you can get the full effect of what you are looking at. What’s a girl to do? Ignore it? Call for help? Give up in defeat and hope for the best? Surrender! Confusion suddenly falls over you as you continue to stare at it in disbelief because you haven’t seen a spider in this house for close to two years now. (And yes, when you don’t appreciate spiders springing themselves on you, you tend to look for them ahead of time to avoid the surprises. In doing this you keep a thorough count of when the last time you had an interaction with one. It’s like keeping track of a running record of days those employees were safe at a plant. Then one day someone gets injured and your score goes from zero to one. Opps! Have to go and change the tally books now. I had a similar encounter on Saturday when we decided to paint the garage. The outside of the garage walls was covered in webs, spiders, nets, etc. you name it, it was probably there. These had no doubt been there for a hot minute. There were Charlotte’s Webs all over the dang place! Like what the French toast?! So anyway, as I am rolling the extended roller paint brush up the sides to reach as much as I can – so that I need to do as little as possible up on the top of the ladder – these peeps are falling down on me. Wait, wait, wait, wait – let me back up a second – that’s a little bit of a hyperbole – they were webbing down on me. And friends what I mean by that is they were deciding at high speeds while attaching to their silk strings. Real spider man shit if you know what I mean. So yeah, there was that. A day that will be forever imbedded in my head and thank goodness I will never have to worry about doing that again…I’m series…even if it needs painted again when I am fifty because it’s peeling off like the skin of a person who got bad sunburn…I don’t care – not doing it LOL! By then I’ll be too far in age to have the guts to deliberately put myself in Aragog’s layer à where my Harry Potter people at?! 😊 You’ll know the reference! And if you don’t know…give it a google, you will and won’t be sorry. Thanks J.K. Rowling! We love you! On a side note: I saw the most breathtaking view this morning driving into work in the wee hours of the morning! Okay now to be specific it was four-thirty (super, duper early) – pitch dark out of course when lighting began to light up the clouds. Spots of orange and white lit up the sky, it was amazing! If only I could paint and was actually good at it, I would paint the shiz-nat out of that! In conclusion…have you ever had an ant fall out of nowhere and land on top of your hand? No, no – not a flying ant, an actual-legit ant ant. An ant of an ant! Yeah…me either! 😊 Have a great rest of the day everyone! As always I appreciate ya && stay safe out there! Hey readers!
In the words of Alec Baldwin in the 2005 movie Fun with Dick and Jane starring the hilarious married duo of Jim Carrey and Téa Leoni - "it's like my daddy always used to tell me..." Anyone who has ever watched the film will know the reference because Jack aka Alec Baldwin - no not Captain Jack Sparrow, that's Johnny Depp silly - uses it quite frequently! It's the go-to phrase that you don't forget once he has said it once LOL! Where this phrase is relevant to me at the current moment is when both of my parents speak of the lottery and then shortly after one of them always reminds the other "you gotta play to win" I learned that entering your novel into an award contest is a lot like gambling in the sense that "you gotta play to win" Sure you are never guaranteed to win, you are not even guaranteed to place in the top three or top five even! But that shouldn't stop you from trying! If you never try, it will never happen, right? It's not like a ribbon is going to show up in your mailbox with a letter saying, "Hey we read your book and thought it was great here is your prize." Uhh...NO! LOL! I am not going to be hurt or even sad if I don't make it in the top numbers because this is all about the experience for me and to have fun doing what I love the most - writing and sharing it with others! I just want to share my stories with others! And to take part in the whole experience I think one of those things would be to enter it in some contests and see how it does! It's like test driving that six speed that you just pulled out of the lot with the sales guy - you get out on the highway and he looks over at you from the passenger side and says, "Go ahead, stand on it, let's see what this car can do!" You don't have to tell me that twice - I have a six speed - and if I didn't wind him out and make him scream at least once during our outings I think he'd be pissed at me :) hell I'd be pissed at me haha!! Part of me likes to set goals for myself, realistic goals. That is the old general manager in me coming out I suppose. I would love to make one of my goals to be enter every one of my novels that I write in a competition. Realistic? Of course! Now how about entering every one of my novels until it wins at least one of the competitions I entered it in? No, that's not realistic. Of course it would be nice if every one of your novels won (one) competition that you entered it in. But that is not reality! I feel like the chances of every single one winning a new award...ekk...might be a high stretch. Remember what Dr. Leo Marvin (Richard Dreyfuss) told Bob (Bill Murray) in the 1991 film What About Bob? Baby steps... You'll know that reference too if you have ever watched that movie...classic! In the end I made a list of all the contests I want to enter into I think there are twelve different ones total - ranging from deadlines of this week the whole way to next February. It's gamblinggggggggggg timeeeeeeeeee! Hope you all enjoy the rest of your night - I was in bed early last night and all day today with my bad migraine and it was horrific! But I feel better now, just really sore. Thank goodness! Stay safe out there && as always, I appreciate ya! Have you ever intended on doing something and then you turn the tv on and the show "My Lottery Dream Home" is on with David Bromstad and you just completely get sucked into it?
And if that's not good enough to get sucked into just one episode then one rolls into two, two into three, and before you know it you realize it's basically a four hour marathon. Then just when it ends and you think alright time to be somewhat productive... then "Love It or List It" comes on. At that point it's game over. Your best bet is to take a short bathroom break, grab another bottle of water to stay hydrated and refreshed, and get settled back into your seat because you're going to be there the rest of the day! I love watching Hilary Farr do her magic on houses! She is inspiring! And of course we can't forget about David Visentin and the beautiful homes he finds! If you won a million dollars on a scratch off or on the Powerball what would you do with it? Would you pay off old debt? Invest it? Save it? Donate it? Spend it? Buy your family something special? Get your dad a car or your mom a new house perhaps? Good Evening Readers,
Well I would say today was rather successful. My husband was able to make a door for additional crawlspace which was great to finally have that on! It looks lovely - next we will just have to paint it to match the cinders! And then the garage got its first coat of paint today to match the house and it looks terrific! So much better than the brown color it was before. It was worth the endless landing of spiders and bees on me to get it the first side completely done. It was a beautiful day today and regardless of what you did - whether it was an activity outside or inside I hope you enjoyed it and enjoyed the day! Also wanted to let you know that my Goodreads page has been updated to now include a biography and I added some more books to my want to read list! I am watching this movie as I write this blog called "Spell" it is a horror / thriller film from 2020 and it is giving me "Misery" meets "Green Inferno" vibes so far. I would recommend you to watch it if you are into this genre of film because so far it is keeping us on our toes! Stay safe out there && as always, I appreciate ya! Bonjour Readers!
I just wanted to do a quick drop by and say... I learned two things today: 1. When you work with a group of men, it is never too early for a fart joke a. you can always count on those to make you laugh - thank you for that 2. Smells can be deceiving a. see below for further explanation... Your co-worker walks in the office and says something smells good and another co-worker points out the fact that I had just made something for lunch... When really moments earlier you burned a chocolate chip cookie in the microwave trying to reheat it to its former glory And that ladies and gentlemen is how smells can be deceiving Thank you - I'll be here all week *bowing successfully* On another note - I hope you all had a great Tuesday as we move past today and head into the middle of the week! Talk to you all soon - stay safe out there and as always, I appreciate ya! Hey Readers,
I hope everyone had a great Father's Day! My dad saw the commercial that the Dairy Queen was running about a Father's Day DQ cake the day prior - so we had one of those after our meal. Haha! I couldn't decide which card to get him this year so instead I bought three different ones and made a "book card" out of it! I would suggest that to you if you ever run across more than one that you can't decide on either. It nice to switch things up every once in awhile. They showed Grown Ups (one and two) on the tv yesterday - they are both hilarious! I would recommend them to you if you are looking for a goofy comedy to enjoy! After that Mrs. Doubtfire came on. I cried off and on throughout the film. For multiple reasons. The obvious is because I still can't believe Robin Williams is gone. It's hard to believe. Just like Paul Walker. I just can't believe it. Even though so much time has passed it still doesn't even seem real. I also cried when his wife asked for a divorce after their argument - let us not forget about when the son said it was his fault. (Which was not true) - the drive away that first time was killer too. And just the fact of a father being separated from his children. A loving father. A caring father. It is heartbreaking to watch. Then going through the transformation of dressing up as an older woman just to get the housekeeper job only to be able to spend more time with his children and to still be able to get to see them everyday. I feel like every time I watch a Robin Williams movie I can see the messages behind each one. He is a beautiful soul. Rest in Peace - Robin Williams & Paul Walker ✞ Hi Readers,
Just wanted to drop by to say a few quick things: My mind was blown last night when I logged in to check my usual numbers - one of which being the reviews for Unforeseen on Amazon and Goodreads - and I saw what I am calling an unforgettable review listed on Amazon from a few days ago. It was titled "Highly Recommend" and read as such: "This book should be named unforgettable because that is what it is. It had such suspense I never want to put it down. I am rereading it for a second time. I also bought a couple of books to hand out to my friends since I know they will enjoy it as much as I do. I can't wait to read more of Christina's novels. Keep up the amazing work. " I don't know if the person who wrote that will see this - but I am so grateful to you for leaving such an impactful review. I swear I reread it three times and each time it brought a bigger smile filled with more and more tears in my eyes. Such kindness. Thank you so much! It meant the world to hear that. It is your comment that I found to be unforgettable. I am ecstatic to hear that you enjoyed so much!! And I'll let you in on a little secret...I am still kicking the idea of writing a sequel although I had never planned to in the beginning. Something happened today while I was at Walmart - I went down the aisle where the travel size items are - that you can get for pretty cheap - to grab a couple packs of hand wipes. And there was a mother and her young daughter getting some things as well. So I waited off to the side for a little bit while they were picking their items out and then there was a gap when both the mother and daughter and stepped back from the section. At which point I excused myself and reached over to grab what I needed. As I did I hear a little voice say politely to me that she liked my shirt. It was adorable and it actually caught me off guard for a few seconds. Today had not been the best day for me and to hear something so kind coming from a little girl brought a smile to my face. She was so sweet and sincere and it really made my day. Thank you to the mama bear for raising such a sweetie pie! I made sure to thank her before I left the aisle. If only we could all be kind to one another like the kindness you can receive from a child. I appreciate ya && as always, stay safe out there! Hey Readers,
Just wanted to take a few minutes to pop by and tell you a couple quick things - Number One = I recently updated my biography on my Amazon Author Central page so that now every language that Amazon offers will now be able to read my bio in their language Below I will attach a snip of all the languages that they have available and that I translated for :) I noticed I have made more friends in different countries - hey everyone - don't be shy - stop by and leave a comment if you want! Just wanted you to know that I noticed you all out there and wanted to make sure you could read what I was writing too. Eventually I would like to make my blogs in various languages too on this website but it will take some time. I started making one of the pages and it'll be a long process. But I will get there eventually. And when I do I'll let you guys know when it is done and how to access the various languages. Number Two = Excited to tell you the news that my "working title creation" is now ten chapters in and roughly twenty-five thousand words and counting! Unlike the novel I have out now Unforeseen which I would say fits into the romance, thriller, and crime genres...this new novel will be in the fantasy genre and I haven't quite figured out which others as of now I like my books like I like everything else - a little bit of everything. That is how I am with my music tastes and my food, my movies. I can't imagine myself being chained to just one genre. I'd like to write whatever I am feeling at the time. Whatever I am in the mood for. For instance sure I have a lot of romance novels waiting in my backlog but I also have horror. I too am kicking around the idea of writing a erotic novel. No safe word please. Shhh...keep that on the down low :) hahah! But I am seeing a lot of people that like reading smut right now. Ever since they got a taste of Christian Grey and Gideon Cross they have been seeking more. They want more and I don't blame them. Hell at times I am seeking more of that too. I don't know the possibilities are endless when you write and why limit myself to just one constant thing? Aye? Anywaysssssssss - I hope you guys had a great Tuesday and tomorrows hump day so just keep that in mind - we are halfway through the week already :) Stay safe out there everyone - and as always, I appreciate ya! How’s it going readers?! It is almost FRIIIIIIII-YAYYYYYY! YEEEEEE-HAWWWW! LOL!!!
So, I do have a couple small stories to tell you…but I am going to write it out in a list this time to switch things up a little bit 😊 1. Parental reading
2. Daredevil deer
3. Hindered heights
4. Meat madness
5. That ends today’s festivities
Happy Monday Readers!
And thank goodness it is over! 😊 Nahh – I am just kidding it wasn’t that bad for a Monday They should still be optional though just saying… What is everyone eating for dinner tonight? I’m hungry! I hope you all had a great week last week! My vacation slowly came to a close at about 11PM last night it registered that – hey you got work tomorrow – with the “you’ve got mail” ding going off inside my head I don’t know why but I always want to stay up and get all my hours out of Sunday freedom before my Monday workday. But in doing that my brain and my body hates me the next morning! LOL! Every time it is like why do you torture us? Just got to bed on time! I think the hardest part for me is that for almost seven years of my life I worked night shift on Sunday and always had Mondays off. So even though I have been in this new/current job for almost four years now my body still hasn’t gotten used to going to bed at a decent time on Sundays. It is hard. This ongoing battle consists of lots of tossing and turning, traveling through the house, maybe show watching, and then some iPod time before I’m like yeahhhhh I gotta get up in like four hours… What can I say I like to drag it out, I guess? On the flip side vacation week was a little not the best I’ve ever had to say the least LOL… The Friday that started it all I was in bed most of the day – feeling under the weather – that rolled us into Monday when I got my twenty-four-hour migraine (which carried over into Tuesday) – ran over some metal or something wicked on the highway only to puncture the tire along with a massive whole through the rim as well ☹ mind you I just paid a lot of money for new tires had to be less than a month ago And then we couldn’t end the week without something scary personal happening which basically cut my vacation short but that’s okay it just meant I had to stay inside for the last two days of my vacation. Whoooppppsss! However, I did get another couple chapters done on this mystery book I am whipping up. Which I would like to share that it will be considered to be in the fantasy genre – not sure which other ones yet until I finish it honestly. Ooo– you know what else I wanted to tell you was the fact that I got my copyright letter today! It is officially official – Unforeseen has been copyrighted! It was so cool to have the actual paper in hand 😊 I hope you had a great Monday so far and that the rest of it goes swell too! If you are interested, please sign up to receive June’s newsletter before the end of the month as it is hot off the press! And please, please don’t forget to continue in helping me spread the word about Unforeseen and leaving your honest reviews about it on Amazon / Goodreads to help others make their final decisions on it! I greatly appreciate all of your efforts so far! It means so much!! Thank you for everything you have done! Stay safe out there && as always, I appreciate ya! |
Thank you.For taking the time to read through the blogs, contacting me, visiting my website, and most importantly reading my novels. Archives
