I was a little disappointed to find out that the new Conjuring movie was only available to rent by HBO Max subscribers.
Just saying...I would’ve definitely paid the thirty dollars to watch it one time from the comfort of my home. I wish it would be open to all then they would not have lost out on how many ever other people felt that same way that I did. While my husband and I were scrolling through horror films to watch we came upon Nosferatu which is a movie from 1922 obviously black and white. When I was reading the write up on it I found that it was an old Dracula movie. So of course I was all about it. Once we started it I saw that it was not only black and white but that it had no sound. My husband asked me if I still wanted to watch it to which I replied yes. I don’t know why I was so intrigued by this film. Maybe it was partially because I had never watched a film without sound before. Black and white sure, many of those in fact. But never any without sound. Excuse me allow me to clarify it did have sound, only music. No dialogue was spoken although the actors mouths were obviously holding a conversation with one another. In between each scene was the written dialogue. And not the whole thing I gathered, just the important words that needed to be emphasized to the audience for effect. I was compelled to watch it. Maybe the other part was my fascination of the Dracula films and this had been one I had not seen yet. This was so unbelievable to me. I could hardly look away. It was almost easier for my mind to believe that this film had been edited recently to look like it was from way back in the day than for me to grasp the concept that this was what filmed looked like back in the day. This is what was watched. I hope everyone had a great weekend - it is not over yet so continue to enjoy it for the rest of the day until we have to return to work! It is another beautiful day out! I was outside earlier cutting the grass :) there is something about freshly cut grass, seeing it and smelling it. It is a small sort of accomplishment to cut your lawn. Stay safe out there && as always, I appreciate ya! Comments are closed.
